Hailie Atlas, registered massage therapist

Hailie became a registered massage therapist in 2003 and has been practicing in Barrie since 2004. Her practice has evolved to specialize in sports and deep tissue massage. Another facet of massage she fell in love with is prenatal, and has diversified her practice because of it.

Working with the individual is of the utmost of importance to her, and she will go to the lengths she can to help each client depending on their specific needs. A lover of people, Hailie finds so much satisfaction in helping clients to see results and attain optimal health.

Hailie stays involved in the Barrie community by volunteering and participating in sporting events. In her recreational time, Hailie trains in the gym and sings with various groups for events and at local venues. She is passionate about staying active, running, reading and food.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage focuses on the deeper tissue, increasing blood flow and improving circulation. Deep tissue massage is an effective tool for treating chronic problems as well as injuries. Deep massage can be uncomfortable at times, but should never exceed what is tolerable.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal massage helps with improving circulation, decreasing muscle tension, aches and pains. Can help provide both an easier pregnancy and labour as well as recovery. Prenatal massage helps to treat common pregnancy related issues such as swelling in the limbs (edema), sciatic pain, stress, anxiety and can assist in achieving better sleep.

Sports Massage

Sports massage helps athletes to attain optimal performance, emphasizes on injury prevention and healing. Often a combination of fascial, swedish and trigger point therapy is used. Sports massage can help extend the length of your athletic career.

Swedish Massage

The most common western therapeutic massage, swedish massage refers to a variety of techniques used to increase relaxation, improve circulation and function and promote general well being.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is the stretching of fascia (fascia is a connective tissue that surrounds muscles, groups of muscles, blood vessels, and nerves both binding them together and separating them from other structures). Fascia can become restricted causing a variety of problems such as headaches, chronic pain, reduced range of motion etc. Fascial massage may be used in congunction with your massage (typically at the beginning) to treat specific problems.

What can I expect when I visit a massage therapist?

Your treatment will begin with a case history being filled out. From there a treatment plan will be discussed to suit your individual needs. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions have and you always maintain the right to change or terminate treatment. You are under no obligation to undergo any portion with which you may be uncomfortable. Treatment will not being until you are comfortable with the plan and your consent has been given.

How many treatments will I need?

This will depend entirely on your condition and needs. A treatment plan can be discussed as to decide the frequency recommended for you. Often, if there is a specific condition to be treated, the frequency will be higher at the beginning of the plan.

The goal of massage is to improve your wellness and with that massage frequency will decrease. There is no set answer to how many times you should go for massage but it is recommended as a great tool for maintenance as there are many benefits of regular massage. Maintenance will vary depending on your condition and lifestyle, but a good rule of thumb is 3-6 weeks once you've reached your treatment goals.

What is your cancellation policy?

Should you wish to cancel an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice. There is a full fee charged for missed appointments and a half fee for cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to your appointment time.
